When you visit, bring your clean, empty containers. We’ll weigh them first (so you’re not paying for the container), then you fill up with as much or as little as you like. At checkout, we subtract the container weight and you only pay for the product inside. Simple, sustainable, and waste-free!
How does a refillery work?
Can I try a sample before buying?
We don’t offer free samples, but the beauty of a refillery is that you can purchase as little or as much as you’d like! If you’re curious about a new product, you can buy a small amount to test at home. Just bring a clean container, or pick one up from us in-store.
What types of containers can I bring?
You can bring almost anything that’s clean, dry, and reusable — glass jars, bottles, tins, or sturdy plastic containers. Just make sure they’re free of food, soap, or water residue to keep products fresh and safe.
Do you provide containers if I forget mine?
Yes! We always have jars, bottles, and bags available for purchase. We also keep a selection of pre-filled jars ready to grab-and-go if you’re in a hurry.
Why do you have plastic containers if you're promoting less waste?
Great question — and here’s why. The large 20L containers we receive from PURE are picked up, washed, and reused again and again, keeping them out of the landfill. For the 4L containers we carry, we refill them internally from those larger drums, further reducing packaging waste.
We also offer high-quality plastic bottles with pumps or sprays. These are designed for long-term use, safe refilling, and are especially practical in showers and bathtubs where glass could be a hazard.
In short: our plastics are durable, refillable, and part of our commitment to a safer, waste-free experience.
Can I bring cloth bags or do you only allow jars and bottles?
For the safety of our gluten-free bakery + refillery, we can’t accept cloth bags for food refills. This isn’t just a store rule — it’s about protecting our customers with dietary restrictions. Please bring clean jars or bottles, or choose one of our containers. Reusable grocery bags are always welcome to carry your refilled orders home.
How are products priced?
All of our refillery products are sold by weight or volume (e.g., per 100 g or 100 ml). You only pay for the product, never the container. Pricing is clearly marked on display cards, so you can buy exactly the amount you need.
What kinds of products do you carry?
We stock everyday essentials like laundry soap, dish soap, all-purpose cleaners, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, toothpaste, pantry staples, snacks, spices, and more. We also carry eco-friendly tools like cloths, brushes, and reusable containers.
Are your products organic, vegan, or locally sourced?
Our products are vegan, plant-based, and free from harmful ingredients. We partner with Canadian suppliers whenever possible and always choose sustainable, high-quality options.
How do I make sure containers are sanitary and safe?
We ask that all containers brought in are clean and completely dry before filling. If a container isn’t clean, we may not be able to use it for safety reasons — but don’t worry, we always have extras in-store.
What if I only want a small amount?
That’s the beauty of refilling! You can buy as little or as much as you like. Whether you just need a few tablespoons of a spice or a single scoop of laundry soap, we’re happy to measure it out for you.
Will you be adding more products?
Absolutely! We’re always researching, testing, and sourcing new eco-friendly products to add to the shop. If there’s something you’d love to see on our shelves, let us know — we love customer suggestions.
Are bulk products cheaper than packaged items?
Yes! By skipping the packaging, you’re saving on unnecessary costs. Plus, you only buy what you need, which means less waste and more savings over time.
Do you offer online ordering or a drop-off refill program?
Yes — with our We-Fill Program, you can drop off your clean containers with a shopping list, and we’ll fill them for you. You can also shop online and select the We-Fill option for pickup. It’s an easy, convenient way to shop waste-free without lifting a scoop!
How much is shipping?
Nope—no minimum required! We offer flat rate overnight shipping for $15. So go ahead, fill that cart with your favourites!
Can I return jars or bottles for a deposit refund?
We don’t currently offer refunds on returned jars. However, we’re happy to accept clean, unused jars so other customers can put them to good use — and to help keep containers out of the landfill.
Do you accept large bulk container orders (for families, restaurants, or businesses)?
Yes, we can prepare bulk refills for larger orders. Contact us for custom pricing and availability.
